Effect Onion Soup

The onion soup , is a typically French cuisine recipe. It is quite easy to make and, like everything the French usually do in this kitchen, it is very tasty. They play with the sweetness of the onion mixed with the flavors of gratin cheese and with a good homemade broth.  Ingredients For Onion Soup For  6 People:

  2 medium onions. The sweeter the better.

 1.5 liters of broth . Can be meat or vegetables


 1 tablespoon butter

1 glass of white vinigar

 6 slices of bread one or two days

 2 tablespoons wheat flour

Salt and pepper

 Olive oil


1.-  Peel and cut the onion into thin strips. Then in a frying pan, pour a stream of oil and butter. Heat over a gentle heat, until the butter melts and fills with the oil. Once done add the onion, salpimentamos and let cook, stirring occasionally about 10 minutes. Until it gets soft

2.-  Now add the flour and stir it while cooking, to eliminate its flavor to raw. This flour will give a little body to the onion soup. Let cook for 3 minutes and then add the white vinigar. Let cook 2 minutes more to evaporate the alcohol

3.- Add the hot broth. Remove for two minutes to remove possible lumps and let cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes more. Do not raise the fire very much because to bring flour, if could go to the bottom and burn, ruining the recipe.

4.-  To finish, place the onion soup in individual bowls. They must be oven resistant. We put a slice of bread from the day before. And on top of the cheese bread and, baked, with the grill put at 200ºC! Until it has gratin well.
