What are Free Radicals?
There are millions of transactions in the human body at the same time, and they all need oxygen. Unfortunately, oxygen is also a harmful side effect of life-giving oxygen. This comes to life through oxidizing substances. These substances, which are generally called “free radicals”, damage the cells and cause chronic diseases.

Free radicals can occur as a result of exposure to sunlight or air pollution. Other causes may be stress, alcohol and cigarette consumption, environmental toxins, radiation, insomnia, excessive exercise, sedentary lifestyle or unhealthy food.

Some antioxidant enzymes are produced in the body. The most important of these are superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and glutathione. Superoxide modifies the structure of dismutase oxidants and converts them to hydrogen peroxide. Catalase breaks hydrogen peroxide into water and small oxygen particles. Glutathion, on the other hand, binds different toxins and changes their structure, so that the constituents are removed from the body as waste.

Other antioxidants are found in foods. Foods rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene are considered to be the most beneficial foods. These nutrients are found in various quantities in fruits and vegetables. The strongest ones are generally the most healthy. Oranges, red peppers, tomatoes, spinach and carrots in plenty of antioxidants are at the beginning of the food.

Also, choosing fresh fruits and vegetables instead of cooked foods increases the absorption of antioxidants in the body and prevents them from disappearing.

Does All Antioxidants Show the Same Effect?
That’s no answer. The effect of antioxidants and power varies. For example, antioxidants in green tea are stronger than vitamin C. Your body needs different antioxidants to stay healthy.

Antioxidants Minerals: Selenium, Zinc, Magnesium, Coenzyme Q-10, Iodine, Chromium
